Coach Chuck McBreen has turned the Ramapo College Roadrunner Basketball Program into a highly competitive play–off team after taking the reins at the start of the 1998-1999 season. He was the first ever full–time basketball coach at the college. For nine of his 14 years at Ramapo, the program has been nationally ranked in the top 25. The team made eight straight appearances in the NJAC playoffs from 2000-2001 to the 2007-2008 seasons and again in 2009-2010 and 2011-2012.
During the 2010-2011 season, Coach McBreen led the Roadrunners to a 20-7 season and an 11-2 NJAC record, they finished #1 in the NJAC North Division and earned their ninth trip to the NJAC Tournament. The Roadrunners also earned their fourth bid to the NCAA Division III Men’s Basketball Tournament in which Ramapo hosted the opening round. The Roadrunners are the winningest four-year college basketball program in the state of New Jersey for Divisions I, II, and III over the past 11 years holding 220 wins and 89 losses.
Chuck McBreen began his coaching career at North Bergen High School as an assistant during the 1988–89 season and spent three years at his alma mater in that capacity.
He is a 1988 graduate of Towson State University with degrees in physical education and health. He is also in charge of athletic scheduling for the department’s 20 intercollegiate sports.

Coach Trevor Williams enters his first year as an assistant coach for the Ramapo College men’s basketball team for the 2014-2015 season.
Coach Williams was a three-year varsity letterman at Ramapo Senior High School in Spring Valley, NY; where he received Athlete of the Season following his senior year. Williams then attended Iona College where he received a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration with a Concentration in Finance.
He began his coaching career as an assistant coach for Rockland Rockets, a travel basketball club, in 2006. Coach Williams has been the Head Coach & Coordinator of Player Development since 2008.

Coach Frank Codina is entering his sixth year as an assistant coach for the Ramapo College men’s basketball team.
Coach Codina is the Director of Player Development for the New Jersey Mavericks Basketball Club and serves as the head coach for the NJ Mavericks Girls’ 2013 national team.
He began his coaching experience as the boys freshman coach at St. Joseph’s in Hudson County from 1983-1985, before taking over the junior varsity program in 1986. For three seasons, 1990-1993, Codina served as an assistant coach for Hasbrouck Heights High School, while also taking the head coach position for the Riverside boys’ team.
For more then seven years, 2002-2009, Codina served as the Travel Team Director and coach for the Mahwah Boys’ and Girls’ Recreation Programs. He has experience as a personal trainer and team instructor, working with various club teams throughout the years. He has served as a Camp Instructor for the Nike/5 Star programs and has coached at various College Summer Leagues.

Coach Pat Gabriele makes his return to Coach McBreen’s staff after a six-season absence. During those six seasons, Coach Gabriele was the Head Men’s Basketball Coach at Elmwood Park Memorial High School.  Coach Gabriele was an assistant on Coach McBreen’s staff from 2003 until 2005.

During his tenure as a Ramapo assistant, Coach Gabriele helped Ramapo maintain its status as a national power in men’s basketball. In Gabriele’s first season on staff, the Roadrunners went 23-6 and won the ECAC Championship. But during his second season on staff, the men’s basketball program reached even new heights. After finishing with a 24-5 record, the Roadrunners claimed the NJAC regular season title and the school’s first ever conference tournament championship. They were rewarded with a #1 seed in their pod of the NCAA tournament and finished their season by reaching the Sweet 16.

Following two successful seasons at Ramapo,
 Coach Gabriele took the system and style of play he learned under Coach McBreen and moved on to his first head coaching job at Elmwood Park. While there, Gabriele took a struggling program that had never won a league title and turned it into one of the best Group 2 schools in the state of NJ. Compiling an overall record of 107-47, Gabriele’s team showed a pressing, up tempo style that would lead their conference in scoring for six consecutive seasons. This style would help Elmwood Park claim 5 straight conference titles, 6 Bergen County Jamboree appearances, and a 2006 NJ State Sectional Championship. He left Elmwood Park as the school’s all-time leader in county victories and having the school’s highest winning percentage.

Coach Gabriele holds a BA is Psychology and Elementary Education with certifications is psychology, math, and biology. He teaches high school biology at Hasbrouck Heights High School. He currently resides in Clifton, NJ.

Coach Rasheen Gadsen returns to his alma mater after joining Coach McBreen’s staff in 2011-2012.  He helped lead the Roadrunners to 58 wins in his three seasons with the program (2000-2003). Gadsen transferred to Ramapo from Mesa Community College in Arizona, and in just his first year he posted 119 rebounds, 38 assists, and 30 steals.
During his junior year, Gadsen recorded a team leading 220 rebounds, ranking #7 on the all-time leader board. That season, he netted 259 points while contributing 69 steals. He helped lead his team to a 21-8 overall record, 12-6 in the conference, earning a post-season bid to the NJAC Championship Tournament. After a tough first round loss, Gadsen led his team to an ECAC Championship Crown where they defeated NJAC rival, New Jersey City University, 101-83 in the final game.

The program saw even more success in his senior season when they traveled to Wooster, Ohio for the NCAA Elite Eight after going 26-4 overall, 17-1 in the conference. Ramapo worked their way to Wooster by defeating USMMA in the opening round, 92-76, and Montclair State in the Sweet Sixteen, 89-80. That season, Gadsen recorded 251 points and a team leading 176 rebounds. That season, Ramapo broke the all-time school record for wins (24) set by the 1991 “Final Four” team. They broke the all-time school record for win streak (11) set by the same team. Ramapo posted 17 straight wins and recorded the best conference and overall records in the school’s history. The Roadrunners were the first to ever clinch 1st place in the conference for basketball.

After graduating in 2005 with a degree in Literature, Gadsen went on to coach Dickinson High School for three seasons, 2005-2008. He is attending Montclair State, pursuing his masters degree in physical education while working as a mentor in East Orange where he mentors kids in all aspects of life. He currently resides in Jersey City.
